Are You in Optimal Health?

Microphone and computer; early warning signs of a thyroid problem.

There are many habits and lifestyle changes you can implement that may help support health and quality of life, as well as potentially reduce the risk of developing certain conditions later in life. In this week’s show we ask if you are in optimal health, and give some tips on what you can do to help you be healthier.

GI Support – This formula contains the amino acid glutamine, the primary fuel for intestinal cell function, to help meet the high energy demands of the GI tract, liver, and immune system during periods of physiological stress and transport ammonia to the kidneys for excretion. Acacia and inulin add soluble fibers that are readily fermentable into short-chain fatty acids that support growth of beneficial bacteria, assist water absorption, and support colonic cell function.

Resvera-Max – Resveratrol is a polyphenolic compound with antioxidant activity found in grapes, wine, blueberries, cranberries, and peanuts. While red wine has been popularized as an important source of resveratrol, amounts vary widely. The maximum content of resveratrol in red wine extracts available for use in dietary supplements is 20%. In contrast, root extracts of Japanese Knotweed (Polygonum cuspidatum) provide up to 50% trans-resveratrol content, the same form as found in red wine.

Amino Complete – A comprehensive, hypoallergenic source of essential amino acids. Designed to meet the needs of individuals who require additional amino acids for protein support. This formulation of 20 essential and non-essential “L-form” amino acids uses the highest-quality, pharmaceutical grade, crystalline amino acids in their “free” form to ensure maximum bioavailability and tolerance.

Are Vitamins Just Expensive Urine?

Microphone and computer; are vitamins just expensive urine?

As more people make taking nutritional supplements part of their daily routine, some people still wonder if it’s worth the time and money. One of the common misconceptions about supplements is that you absorb very little and excrete most of it, but this isn’t always the case. Some vitamins are made with cheaper ingredients that are difficult for the body to absorb, like using cyanocobalamin instead of methylcobalamin for B12. The cyanocobalamin is much cheaper, but much more difficult to absorb. This is why it’s important to take multivitamins and other supplements that are made with high-quality ingredients. In this week’s show we’ll discuss in more detail how not all supplements are equally effective, and explain why vitamins are not just expensive urine.

Products Mentioned in Today’s Show

Active Mega Multi – Compared to common, over-the-counter multivitamin products delivered in 1 tablet daily, this formulation offers enhanced antioxidant protection, broader trace element nutrition, and augmented B vitamin support. This core foundation of essential nutrients can help provide an extra measure of nutritional protection.

D3 + K2 Ultra – Clinical research suggests that the combination of vitamin D3 plus K2 together help provide support for healthy cardiovascular function, bone health, and immune system function.

Methyl Supreme – Methyl Supreme is a unique formula that combines bioactive forms of four essential B vitamins with trimethylglycine (betaine). Vitamins B2, B6, B12, and folate are provided in active, coenzyme forms for maximal bioavailability and function. The ingredients in Methyl Supreme work together to synergistically support methylation processes and help maintain normal homocysteine metabolism.

Signs Your Liver Might Be Toxic

Microphone and computer; early warning signs of a thyroid problem.

The average person can be exposed to hundred or thousands of different chemicals each day though our air, water, food, cleaning products, make up, lotion, medications, etc. The liver is largely responsible for filtering through most of these chemicals, as well as the other many bodily processes the liver plays a role in. Having to filter through the large amounts of chemicals each day can be hard on the liver, and over time it may no longer function optimally. In this week’s episode, we’ll go over some signs that your liver might be toxic, and discuss some things you can do to help support the health of your liver.

Products Mentioned in This Week’s Show

Liver Support – Help support liver health and your body’s vital detoxification processes with Liver Support, a combination of nutrients and herbs designed to support the liver’s role in these processes.* Liver Support combines milk thistle extract with a unique herb-enzyme blend to create a balanced botanical formula for the support of healthy liver function.* N-acetyl-cysteine, methionine and other nutrients are included to support the production of glutathione, a potent free radical scavenger that also plays a critical role in maintaining the body’s normal elimination pathways.*

Vital Detox – This formulation is rich in chlorophylls from Chlorella and contains a unique broccoli extract with glucosinolates. The chlorophylls in Chlorella form tight molecular complexes with a wide variety of everyday toxic chemical compounds, reducing their absorption from the gastrointestinal tract. A high-strength enzyme blend also breaks down dietary antigens and may support assimilation of beneficial constituents of Chlorella. Glucosinolate compounds in broccoli are powerful inducers of natural phase 2 detoxification processes in the liver. Most substances detoxified by the liver are released into the bile for excretion through the intestinal tract. Chlorella helps trap these toxins to reduce reabsorption.

EZ Relax – We’ve teamed nature’s greatest stress management ingredients to create a uniquely effective combination. Formulated with Ashwagandha, valerian extract, L-theanine, and GABA.

Microphone and computer; are vitamins just expensive urine?

Many people have had feelings of isolation, anxiety, depression, irritability, and even anger throughout the last several weeks due to current world events. Some people have also reported increases in the amount of alcohol and junk food they’ve been consuming. A poor diet and overconsumption of alcohol can worsen emotional disorders by affecting different parts of the body. The kidneys and liver are often linked to certain negative emotions like anger and depression, so consuming too much alcohol can have a negative impact on both the kidneys and the liver, especially if you are not drinking enough water. In this week’s episode, we’ll discuss the kidney’s connection to our emotions, and what we can do to help support kidney health.

Products Mentioned in Today’s Show

Kidney Korrect – The ingredients in Kidney Korrect™ have been shown to support healthy kidney function. Champex®, a patented extract from Agaricus bisporus, the common white button mushroom, has been shown to help the body maintain a healthy ratio of creatinine in the blood versus the urine. Red ginseng, a specially processed form of Panax ginseng, also supports healthy kidney function and displays kidney-protective, anti-inflammatory and antioxidative properties. Astragalus provides support for healthy fasting glucose levels, along with healthy albumin levels in the urine.

P5P Ultra – Pyridoxal 5’-Phosphate (P-5-P, or PLP) is the biologically active form of vitamin B6. It is formulated with highly bioavailable bisglycinate magnesium, an essential mineral that assists in B6 metabolism. Magnesium bisglycinate chelate is well tolerated and easily and comfortably absorbed without GI tissue irritation. P5P Ultra is a unique formula designed to support the health and function of the brain, nervous system, blood vessels, skin, and eyes.

Active Mag – Active Mag is a blend of four bioavailable forms of magnesium, designed to provide optimal absorption and utilization of magnesium.

You Can’t Outrun Your Fork

Microphone and computer; are vitamins just expensive urine?

The average American eats a large amount of processed foods that are typically full of chemicals, grains, simple carbohydrates, and unhealthy fats. These foods are usually low in essential vitamins and minerals, and can contribute to inflammation, and one of the biggest offenders in the American diet today is gluten. With so many people unaware that they have a gluten sensitivity, there are many people eating gluten every day that are actually sensitive to it. Eating foods you have a sensitivity to can cause an inflammatory response and can damage the lining of your gut, as well as affect other organs. This chronic inflammation can wreak havoc throughout your body, and can cause symptoms that may be misdiagnosed as a medical condition in some cases. You cannot take enough supplements or exercise enough to compensate for continuing to eat something your body is sensitive to, which is why we say you can’t outrun your fork because you must fix your diet. However, many people don’t want to cut foods out of their diet until they are sure they are sensitive or allergic to them. So, in this week’s podcast episode we’ll go over some symptoms of food sensitivities, and discuss our new test that tests for gluten sensitivities as well as a couple of other food groups.

Products Mentioned in Today’s Show

Wheat Zoomer/Leaky Gut/Food Sensitivity Panel Profile 1 – Vibrant’s Wheat Zoomer is a health analytics tool built to assist in the detection of wheat and gluten related disorders. It aids in the specific recognition of antibodies to wheat peptides, including gluten and non-gluten components along with intestinal permeability. The Wheat Zoomer allows detection of protein antibodies associated with wheat and gluten sensitivities for information to reduce, monitor and manage the inflammatory effects of those sensitivities.

Digest Ease – Digest Ease is a cinnamon flavored chewable tablet containing DGL (deglycyrrhizinated licorice root and rhizome extract) and mastic gum to support healthy digestion and gastrointestinal function.† This product may help alleviate gastrointestinal discomfort associated with occasional indigestion.†

Detox Your Way to Energy

Microphone and computer; early warning signs of a thyroid problem.

We are exposed to countless enviromental toxins every day through our food, water and air. While the body works tirelessly to detoxify, humans are exposed to far more toxins than ever before, so our bodies can use all the help they can get. Heavy metals, mold, food additives, tap water contaminants, and medications all have to be filtered out, and these detox processes are reliant on healthy liver and kidney function, as well as having the appropriate nutrients to bind to these metals and chemicals so they can be eliminated properly. In this week’s show we’ll discuss how to detox your way to energy, why certain herbs are important for heavy metal detoxification, and how giving your body the nutrients it needs to detoxify properly can make a big difference.
